Joel Germoso

José Joel Germoso Mata is a Dominican-American bass player, better known as Joel Germoso. He was born in La Vega, Dominican Republic, in 1992. At the age of 7 (1999), he studied Flute at the School of Fine Arts and at the Colegio Agustiniano. Then, at the age of 11, he began studying classical guitar, with his instructor Ramón Antonio Germoso (Bilio), who was also his grandfather. At the age of 13 (2006), he decided to learn another instrument, the electric bass. He started his electric bass studies in the United States and also at the Berklee College Of Music Santo Domingo. Upon his return to the Dominican Republic in 2009, he decided to work as a professional bass player. From 2010 to the present, Joel Germoso has developed his career as a bassist and has showcased his talent with numerous artists and bands. He currently works as a music teacher and music producer.
